On the reverse is printed "In the 18th and 19th centuries, this locality was known as Pinfold Brow ( now Lloyd Street) and Goose Green. Wheelwrights, handloom weavers and market gardeners lived locally including James Smith, famous for his early Bowdon Downs potatoes, George Barlow who made shoe blacking and Isaac Garner, a shoemaker, who kept fine geese."
