This is the old Pelican Hotel on Washway Road, West Timperley. There has been a public house on this site from at least the early 19th Century. In this photograph you can see the old public house and the new one. The plans for the new building were drawn up by G Westcott F.M.S.A. of Bridge Street Manchester. The plans were initially approved in 1930 and work began in May of 1931.
