The minutes of the inaugural meeting of the Friends of Altrincham Town Hall, 14 May 2002, explain that 'the meeting had been called because of the impending redevelopment of the Town Hall area. This started in November 2001 when an Area Board meeting discussed the possible demolition of the Town Hall except for the façade'. The records consist of meetings minutes, reports and newsletters.
