First meeting of the Town Council in the new Town Hall, opened on the 13th September 1933, at Stretford. Members of the Council seated next to the Mayor Sir Thomas Robinson, K.B.E. J.P. on the Alderman's Bench are Alderman F.W. Bates (on the right of the Mayor) the Reverend E.W. Horrocks, the Mayors Chaplain, and Alderman J. Marple.
