Silver plate crown with red stones and a red velvet cap. Inscribed with the words "Stretford Pageant" on the rim. Stone missing from the decorative piece on the front of the crown which is inscribed with the words "Stretford Urban District Council" This piece is etched with images that were later included on the coat of arms for the Municipal Borough of Stretford including; red roses of Lancashire; Lions representing John of Gaunt 1st Duke of Lancaster, a crossed scythe and flail and a boat representing the Manchester Ship Canal.
According to the hallmark the crown was made by James Fenton & Co, a Birmingham silversmith in 1930.
