Railway Street, Altrincham.Taken on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 and shows Railway Street where it joins Stamford New Road at the junction of Regent Road. The public house on the corner was the Woolpack, this Victorian building having replaced an earler thatched inn about 1865.On the right hand side stands the Lancashire and Yorkshire Bank, now Barclays built in 1883. Notice the sign outside the premises of William Grogan who advertised his services as an optician as
