Published originally in 1787 reprinted 1793 an engraved map showing towns, villages,parks,forests, meres, main(with each mile numbered) and secondary roads, rivers, and three canals (Bridgewater, Chester, and Wilden Ferry). Bottom right the title is in a shaded lozenge placed across a finely engraved star indicator of the points of the compass with an elongated northern point crowned with a fleur-de-lis and Cary's name at the southern point. Below this is the scale. The border is marked by a thick and thin line with a double inner line marked off into degrees and minutes of latitude and longitude. Between the border lines at the bottom "Longitude West from London"
