A biography of James Neville Marshall, winner of the Vicotoria Cross during the First World War. He was born in 1887 in Stretford at 64 Steven Street (now Norwood Road) before moving to Birmingham. When the war started he was living in Harlow, Essex. He was killed on 4 November 1918 in an offensive on the Sambre-Oise Canal in France.
