Four digital photographs of a Second World War fire warden's map of the Deansgate Lane area of Timperley. One photograph shows the full map and the three others show a close up of each third. Houses on Deansgate Lane, Brentwood Avenue, Brook Avenue, Mullion Drive, Hall Avenue, Victoria Avenue and St. Andrew's Avenue are labelled with the house number, the surname of the occupant and a third number, possibly indicating the number of inhabitants.
The map belonged to Cyril Ewart Battman, who lived at 25 Deansgate Lane. He is marked on the map as 'Assistant Head Warden'. Cyril was a market gardener, which was a reserved profession. During the war, he served as a part-time fire warden for the Deansgate Lane area of Timperley.
