This photograph shows the Flixton Institute on the corner of Flixton Road and Delamere Road. During the First World War, the injured service men needed somewhere to recuperate from their wounds. The Flixton Institute was opened in response to a request for more beds after the opening of Wibbersley House in 1914. Flixton Institute was known as Wibbersley No 2.
