The corner has been known as "Clark's Corner". This was brought about by the erection of a large white stone building by John Clarke O.B.E. JP member of Sale Borough Council and the Charter Mayor of Sale. When this photograph was taken 1880 the dwelling was used by Mr. Ingham in connection with his photography business. A glass structure at the side of the house was used as a studio/conservatory.
