This is the Old Pelican Inn on Washway Road, West Timperley. There has been a public house on this site from at least the early 19th Century. Hazel Pryor in her book 'Looking Back at Timperley' mentions that there were many tenants who ran the Pelican over the years amongst them '... Sarah Frank who was there in the 1830s and also farmed the 20 acres belonging to the pub'.
