The money was raised by subscription, with many gifts from the Joynson family of Hale, and fund raising, including a scheme for local children encouraged to 'buy a brick', and on 29th November 1890, the foundation stone for St Peter's was laid. 2 years later it was opened for public worship and dedicated by the Bishop of Chester on June 16th 1892.
