On October 23rd 1928 the Stretford Grammar school for Boys on Great Stone Road was opened by the Right Honorable Eustace Percy M.P. and the pupils then attending at the Technical Institute were transferred to the new building; the Headmaster was Mr. A. Dakin. In 1930 a new library was built and about 1957 the laboratories were remodeled and a new gymnasium added. There were approximately 550 pupils in 1973 and the Headmaster was a Mr J. Marsh.
