Ronald Gow

Ronald Gow, a pioneering educationalist and dramatist, was born on November 1st 1897 and educated at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, followed by Manchester University. He pursued a career as a chemist, then a teacher, but was always interested in amateur dramatics from an early age. He was associated with the Garrick Theatre, Manchester, and was famous for his adaptations of novels, one of which was 'Love on the Dole' by Walter Greenwood. He married the actress Wendy Hillier (who was born in Bramhall Cheshire).
