The inquiry by Lt. Col. Wells, one of the inspectors of the Ministry of Health into the petition of the Sale Urban District Council and certain inhabitant householders, praying that a Charter of Incorporation may be granted creating the Urban District a Municipal Borough. The case was presented by J. W. L. Foulkes, Clerk to the Council on 9th May 1934. The appendices include statistics on wards, houses, rateable value, population etc as well as a list of the petitioners.
